Welcome to the 2024 Wayzata Classic and thank you for your continued support of our hosted tournaments!  

The PWYBA thanks you in advance for your participation as we look forward to hosting your teams and families.  Each event promises to be fun, competitive, and positive for all involved!

Tournament Checklist

  • Wayzata Classic Team Roster (once the tournament is set up in Tourney Machine, a request will come from the system)
  • Online check-in waivers for:
    • Player Birth Certificates
    • Coaches Concussion Certificates (All coaches on the field/in the dugout)
    • Child Safety (Sexual Abuse) Training Certificate (All coaches on the field and in the dugout) 

Field & Location Information

  • 9U, 10U, and 11U will play at Greenwood Elementary Playfield
  • 12U and 13U will play at Wayzata West Middle school
  • 14U and 15U will play at Parkers Lake Community Playfield

Important Information

  • MBT RULES will be used for these tournaments.
    • See rules for pitch counts by age group
  • Bats
    • 9U-14U: All bats must have the USA or USSSA  stamp (unless using a -3 BBCOR or wood bat).
    • 15U must use -3 BBCOR or wood bat.
  • The home team shall be determined by a coin toss before every game.
  • Each team is responsible for providing one new baseball for each game.
  • Due to field maintenance requirements, teams are NOT permitted to warm up on the infield.  Please use the outfield and sideline areas for pre-game warmup routines.

State Tournament Dual Qualifier

The Wayzata Classic is a state qualifier for both MBT and GSTC. 

State tournament bids will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

13AA is Gopher only

15AA is MBT only

Awards

Team members of the following placed teams will receive:

  • All Ages
    • 1st place: Classic Champion Rings
    • 2nd place: Silver medal with new PWYBA logo
  • 9-11U
    • 3rd place: Bronze medal with new PWYBA logo
