PWYBA provides team shirts, caps, and socks. We also provide bats, balls, and all other field equipment. Players provide their own glove, shoes, and pants.

In accordance with PWYBA board policy:

6. What are the age cutoffs?

Age Cutoff: April 30th is the birthday cutoff for determination. Association policy states that a player can “play-up” in our house league only if they still play “within their grade” AND they have their prior year’s coach’s recommendation. Travel players must play age specific level unless they have the approval from the Travel Director.

7. How do we find out if a game is rained out?

PWYBA baseball is played at number of fields. Following a rain some fields will be playable; others may be completely unusable. Our goal is to play as many games as scheduled, while rescheduling any games to prevent playing on wet fields or in poor conditions.

Plymouth Parks rainout hotline is (763) 509-5205. If conditions are such that playing on the field (all sports) would cause damage to the fields, Plymouth Parks will cancel all outdoor activities. This will include all scheduled PWYBA games and practices.

In most cases it will be up to the coaches to assess the condition of the field to be played on and the weather conditions and make the call.

Coaches, parents, and players should establish how cancelled games and practices will be communicated for each team.

8. How can I help coach if I travel and have never coached before?

We are always looking for coaches for each league.  We like for each team to have a head coach and one or more assistants and a team manager.  The head coach is responsible for the team.  Assistant coaches help the head coach in practices, games, and filling in when the head coach is not available.  A team manager can help publish the schedule, update the team web page, and help out the head coach as needed.

We have coach training to include how to run a practice, baseball skills to teach, and keeping the game of baseball fun.  Sign up by fill out the application on the Coaches Corner of this website.  You can select head, assistant, or manager, the league, and additional information to include who you would like to coach with or if you have a busy travel schedule and can only help out part-time.
